Isolation of a New Lipoxygenase Active Saponin and a New Triterpenoid from the Leaves of Trachelospermum lucidum[Reference: WebLink]

    METHODS AND RESULTS:
A new saponin trivially named leucioside (1) and a new triterpenoid along with two known lignans Trachelosiaside (3) and matairesionol (4) C-glycosides, were isolated from the butanolic fraction of Trachelospermum lucidum.
    CONCLUSIONS:
Compounds 1 and 4 showed potent inhibitory activity against lipoxyge-nase while compounds 2 and 3 showed moderate activity against lipoxygenase.

Two new lignan glycosides from Trachelospermum lucidum (D. Don) Schum.[Pubmed: 18348054]

    METHODS AND RESULTS:
Two new lignans (1 and 2) having a diarylhydroxybutyrolactone skeleton were isolated from the leaves of Trachelospermum lucidum (D. Don) Schum. Their structures were elucidated to be apocynotrachelolegnin 5'-O-beta-d-glucopyranoside (1) and rafanotrachelogenin 4-O-beta-d-glucopyranoside (2) on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.
    CONCLUSIONS:
Two known lignans, matairesionoside-4-O-beta-d-glucoside (3) and Trachelosiaside (4), were also isolated from Trachelospermum lucidum.
