EFFECTS OF DAPHNELANTOXIN B ON THE ESTERASES AND THE GLUTATHIONE-S-TRANSFERASE(GST).[Reference: WebLink]
The alive body and away body enzyme coped with liquid of the brown citrus aphid(Homoptera: Aphididae) using Daphnelantoxin B with toxic active component.
    METHODS AND RESULTS:
The inhibition of esterase activity on the whole body of the aphid, were evaluated with α and β naphthyl esters using a spectrophotometric assay and native polyacrylanmide gel electrophonesis. And, the inhibition of GST activity on whole body of the aphid, was studied using a spectrophotometric assay. Daphnelantoxin B exhibited higher inhibition of the esterase activity and the GST activity of the aphid regardless of the alive body, away body for enzyme source. But,the study also displayed Daphnelantoxin B was of no significant effect on AChE of the aphid.
    CONCLUSIONS:
The results from Daphnelantoxin B biochemical experiments and subsequent analysis indicate that the inhibition of Daphnelantoxin B on the detoxicification enzyme systems was propitious to further toxic reaction of Daphnelantoxin B in target sit of the aphid body. So, Daphnelantoxin B inhibition on aphid body detoxify enzyme system may be one intoxicant key factor against the aphid.
