1,2-Dimethoxy-5-hydroxyxanthone, a new xanthone, was isolated from the twigs of Mammea siamensis, in addition to six known xanthones (5-hydroxy-1-methoxyxanthone, 1,3-dimethoxy-5-hydroxyxanthone, 2,5-Dihydroxy-1-methoxyxanthone, 1,7-dihydroxyxanthone, 1,3,7-trihydroxyxanthone and 3,5-dihydroxy-1-methoxyxanthone). Structures for these compounds were deduced from their spectral data.
