Hosenkosides A, B, C, D, and E, novel baccharane glycosides from the seeds of Impatiens balsamina[Reference:
WebLink]
From the seeds of Impatiens balsamina has been isolated five novel baccharane glycosides, hosenkosides A-E.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
The structures of all isolates were secured by the use of 2D NMR techniques (1H-1H COSY, HMQC, HMBC, ROESY, TOCSY), CD spectroscopy and chemical derivatization.Hosenkol A, the genin of hosenkosides A and D, and hosenkol B, the genin of hosenkosides B and E are formulated as 1 and 2 respectively.
CONCLUSIONS:
Hosenkol C, the genin of Hosenkoside C is determed as (3S,4R,17R,20S,24Z)-3,17,21,26,28-pentahydroxybacchar-24-ene, on the basis of spectral data.
