Isolation and identification of the chemical constituents from Mangrove plant Acrostichum aureurm[Reference:
WebLink]
To study the chemical constituents of Acrostichum aureurm.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
The constituents were isolated and purified by column chromatography, and their structures were identified by physicochemical data and spectral data. Six compounds were isolated from the ethanol extracts of Acrostichum aureurm, and their structures were elucidated as ponasterone A(1),pterosterone(2),kaempferol(3),quercetin(4),4-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)-2-butanone(5),and daucosterol(6),respectively.
CONCLUSIONS:
All the compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time, and show no growth inhibitory activity on murine melanoma B_(16) cells by MTT assay.
